Considering God's Word

Thought This Was Interesting

This is a page that I am using as some what of a "catch all" for interesting things I may want to share, that don't really fit the theme of any of my other pages on this website.

Your mind is a garden, your thoughts are the seeds; you can grow flowers or you can grow weeds.

In my daily Bible reading, the following verses reminded me how ISIS terrorists have destroyed historical ruins to the despair of those that value them.

"O thou enemy, destructions are come to a perpetual end: and thou hast destroyed cities; their memorial is perished with them.  But the LORD shall endure for ever: he hath prepared his throne for judgment."  Ps 9:6,7

Though I don't approve of destroying historical ruins, it is all going to burn some day anyway (2Pe 3:11), and there will be a new heaven and a new earth, and these ruins (and the old heaven and earth) will not come into our remembrance.  (Isa 65:16b,17 and Rev 21:4)

If you put your happiness in temporary things, your happiness will be temporary.

Infraction against infinite righteousness deserves infinite punishment.

All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing.  Edmund Burke

Don’t trouble trouble, till trouble troubles you,

for if you trouble trouble before trouble troubles you,

you will have double trouble too.

Happy is he      who does not frown      over little things      that gets him down

but laughs them off       and goes his way      not spoiling other people’s day

with bitter things        he has to say.

Our value is measured by what God has done for us, not what we do for God.

He that is convinced against his will is of the same opinion still.

                      Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody

This is a story about four people named "Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody."

There was an important job to do and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.

Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.

Somebody got angry about that, because it was Everybody’s job.

Everybody thought that Somebody would do it,

but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn’t do it.

It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody, when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.
